The filter view is a new view for the Microblog module and is really very simple to use.
Microblog - Leading then list View
The leading then list view displays the image and introtext from the first item in the module then displays the rest of the items in the module in a flat list. It's a great layout to use for new portals or magazine layouts where you might want to show a teaser of what's available in a category without showing everything.
