K2 Items allow additional features and functions to be used which are not available if you create content using the default Joomla Articles.

K2 moves away from the restrictive Sections and Categories and instead uses Nested Categories which in turn allows for multilevel categories to be created.  More information on categories can be found under the K2 menu.
